Wednesday Morning Pass Projects:
July 10, July 31, August 21
Come join the Independence Pass Foundation board & staff for a morning of clearing trails, pulling weeds, planting wildflowers, or whatever our favorite backyard needs most on that particular Wednesday!
August 21—UPDATED August 20:
we will start work at the Grottos, finishing clearing the avalanche debris that fell across the old wagon road. Jim Stark will be operating a chainsaw and the rest of us will be moving the cut trees and debris. Time permitting we will then head to lower Lost Man to repair the fence and pull oxeye daisies.
If anyone would prefer to go directly to lower Lost Man, that is fine: I will have orange vests and trowels for pulling oxeyes at the winter gate (between 8-8:30am). There are oxeyes in the parking area of the trailhead, across the street around the entrance of the campground, and up and down both sides of Highway 82 for several hundred yards.
Meet at the winter gate between 8am-8:30am for coffee and pastries. We’ll head up the road promptly at 8:30am to our beautiful work site, and will back down to the winter gate by noon.
IPF will provide breakfast, water and energy bars for the work session, all tools, and safety vests. Please bring work gloves and whatever else you’ll need to work comfortably for several hours at high elevation in potentially a variety of weather.
One week prior to each date listed above we will post a description of the project HERE. Also feel free to contact Karin Teague for more information. We look forward to working with you!
